If you would like to add some artificial trees or plants to your home, you can do so in one of two ways. The first thought is to find some decorative plants you love and then rearrange any spaces you want to use to accommodate those plants. A different way to go about the process is to make sure your home is designed as you like it, choose areas to add plants or trees, and then shop for something that would fit the areas you have designated. Either way, if you do not have a huge amount of room but you want an adequate amount of greenery, using ferns is a good choice. The ferns foliage is small and slim, and the fern often grows into the space it has available. There is a wide variety of live and artificial ferns. A great benefit of live ferns is that they are hardy and will do well in a variety of settings. Even more easy to maintain and care for are silk plants. Be aware that when you choose a fern, you are not selecting a very colorful or eye-catching plant, though it still makes a lovely accent. Using a flower display in tandem with a few ferns can have a very attractive effect.
Feeding Your Plants
An interesting but little known fact regarding plants is that those in the ground need much less fertilization than potted plants. One cause of this is that typically potted plants are quite young, which means they are growing more rapidly and are more in need of nutrients. Also, due to the fact that their soil nutrients are limited to what is in the pot, and those same nutrients are being drowned out by constant watering, it is important to fertilize. Do not let this fact scare you away from potted plants, however: fertilization can actually be quite easy. The most common way to fertilize your plant is to buy packages of fertilizer in your local garden store. Check any how-to explanations carefully, since every brand or type of fertilizer is a little bit different. One type of fertilizer you may want to consider is a type that dissolves in water before you add that water to your plant. This is a nice option that allows you to take care of both watering and fertilizing the same time.
Silk Orchids
There are over 30,000 types of orchids, and almost four times as many orchid hybrids. Because the natural orchid flowers have so many distinct variations, their silk counterparts are also as numerous. One trait all orchids share is a leaf pattern that is semi-symmetrical. The actual flower is also semi-symmetrical, and most have more than one color, combined in beautiful, sharply contrasting designs. Flower arrangements including orchids should display that flower as the dominant one in the display. Many common arrangements have orchids flowing over the basket or vase, standing tall in the center, or surrounded by other greenery. Orchids most commonly employ two to three strong, bright, contrasting colors (such as white and purple or yellow, orange, and black). However, among the 100,000+ varieties available, there are orchids in just about every shade imaginable. Another plus to this family of flowers is that they can be used in decorations for any time of year.
